Love, Joy, Peace...

                 Week of May 4, 2025

Getting Started:

1.        Have you ever been chosen for something?  How did it make you feel to be chosen?

2.        Being chosen for a project, team, or position can generally be traced to something you did that warranted you to be chosen.  We could never earn or deserve salvation by our own merits. In fact, our sin disqualifies us.  Understanding that, why is it encouraging to know that we were chosen for salvation?

Going Deeper:

1.        Read 2 Thessalonians 2:13-14.

2.        How does the first word of verse 13 contrast with what is revealed in verse 12?

3.        What does it mean that they were chosen from the beginning (firstfruits) for salvation?

4.        The last part of verse 13 defines how they were chosen.  Please explain your answer.

5.      They were called to salvation through the gospel (verse 14).  What is the gospel and why has God chosen to use the gospel as the method of leading people to salvation?

6.        According to the last part of verse 14, what is the purpose or goal of our being called to salvation?  What impact does that have (or should have) on our daily lives?
